A dozen or so Offshoot members undertook the two hour drive, thirty minute sea crossing and tricky disembarking to reach the Great Saltee Island on Saturday June 22nd. Thankfully, for once, warm and dry weather prevailed enabling all of us to take up the challenge of capturing the majesty of the colorful puffins, in addition to a host of other fast-flying seabirds such as gannets, kittiwakes and razorbills. All participants certainly enjoyed the heady mix of sea air, sunshine and a display of varied bird life unique to this wonderful location.
