Traffic is busy enough so it is a real help to know where you are going.
We have Liam Haines to thank for recommending the venue to the Outings Committee.
The good weather helped of course but many of us were really impressed with the place. It has a magnificent presence and the two rose gardens are beautifully kept. There was much interest too in the general layout of the site which is a significant size. As well as monuments, memorials and rose gardens the site sweeps right down to the Liffey opposite a few rowing clubs. For the sporting enthusiasts, there was plenty of opportunities to photograph rowers going up and down the Liffey.
There was interest too for nature photographers with the large dragonflies present – if only we had brought our very large lenses!
Finally, there is a lovely walk along the riverside that was popular with locals but we didn’t have time to explore that yesterday. Definitely a venue worth revisiting.
