21:38 came and went with no sign of the moon breaking the horizon. However, within approx 10 mins the magnificent spectacle of the full moon gradually appeared, climbing out of the mist. Over the next hour or so we were given a real celestial treat as the colour of the moon slowly changed from deep orange to bright yellow. Long lenses and solid tripods were the order of the day for most members as we endeavoured to capture the scene.
A further treat was in store as we turned our cameras to the western skies with views over Dun Laoghaire harbour as the setting sun dipped out of view.
All agreed it was a beautiful evening for photography.
