Club Outing – Hot Air Balloons Tullamore

The Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championships (Irish Ballooning Championships Tullamore 2024) is the longest-running national ballooning event in the world. The 52nd Championships is in Tullamore Co. Offaly from 21st to 26th September.

The exact launch site will be confirmed closer to the event, but it will likely be Tullamore Show, Ballard Hill or Tullamore Town Park.

Planned Flights (all flights are weather permitting) –
Saturday 21st September: PM only – in the air by 5.30 pm
Sunday 22nd to Friday 26th: AM in the air by 7.30 am & PM – in the air by 5.30 pm

Depending on the weather, these times can vary by hour on either side, and preparation for launch will commence approximately 45 minutes before takeoff.

We will meet at the flight location (which will be advised on the Outings WhatsApp group) on Saturday 21st at 4 pm.

This event is weather-dependent, and while organisers will try to make a call as early as possible, a decision could be made an hour before the planned flight. (Again, any cancellation news will be on the Outings WhatsApp group.)

If you plan to attend, please ensure you are a member of the Outings WhatsApp Group, as this will be the primary (and possibly only) communication channel for this event.
