Club Outing – National Botanical Gardens

17 June 2022 | Club Outings

On a beautiful June morning upwards of 13 members descended on the National Botanic Gardens with cameras at the ready. They quickly dispersed into small groups, each member seeking out their favourite part of the gardens.

Great credit is due to the Botanic gardeners for the splendid floral displays despite the very long dry spell we have had in Dublin. As a gardener myself I am well aware of how much watering garden plants have needed this spring, compared to other years. The Botanic greenhouses are of course open again after their winter closure and it looks as though time was spent cleaning their glass for they look ‘sparkling’.

A particular highlight of our outing was to see the exhibition of wonderful bird photographs by our own Robbie O’Leary, on display in the Main Foyer. They are well worth a visit!

The trip ended with lots of chat over lunch.
