Club Outing – Kilkenny

For this outing we’re going to Kilkenny City.

Kilkenny is a medieval city which sits in the middle of Ireland’s Ancient East.

There is plenty to photograph, from the famous castle to the medieval mile, which captures 800 years of history. There is also a lovely walkway along the river Nore and the more energetic photographers can climb St Canice’s round tower which gives lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

Most importantly, there are plenty of cafes for coffee breaks and lunch.

Carpooling would be a sensible way to travel and McDonagh Junction carpark is easy to access from the M9. The train is obviously another option.

We’ll meet in Arán Bakery & Bistro at 10.30 am.
