On the evening of the 12th August, despite a cloudburst at approximately 6 pm, a jovial band of members began to assemble at the blockhouse on the South Bull Wall.
A dazzling rainbow lit up Howth Head but had disappeared by the time people began to arrive. With the promise of good light and the Poolbeg Lighthouse glowing in the evening sun, some members headed for the centre of Dublin Bay. Others remained closer to the start of the wall to take advantage of gentle conditions, good clouds and setting sun.
Unfortunately, the promising early light fizzled away, so the early arrivals enjoyed the best conditions. A very pleasant Summer evening outing.
