OffShootMSGs - OffShoot Minority Support Groups
These groups are for members of Offshoot who use post processing products other than Lightroom and photoshop and for photographic equipment. We think it might be useful for these members to have a way to find help and encourage them in their voyages through the seas of software, preferences and menu possibilities.
To this end John Wiles has set up 3 OffShootMSG whatsapp groups they are for Affinity Photo, Capture One, and Fujifilm. Any member can join any group but the idea is share information and help for the products mentioned.
Other groups may follow.

OffShootMSG-Capture One

To join please contact John Wiles.
Our Club Exhibition is Back
The Annual Club Exhibition will return this year and will be held in the DLR Lexicon over 6 weeks commencing 12th July 2022. You may now submit your images for the exhibition via this dropbox link:
https://www.dropbox.com/request/QiiYhKLD9LcFcbXbSfeD
The new closing date for submission of images is 31st May – so now is a great time to start looking through your images to find something you might like to submit or go and shoot something new if you wish. It is likely that we will be able to accommodate two images from each member.
The launch party has now been booked for the first night of the exhibition (12th July) in Hardys Bar in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire – so put the date in your calendar now!
The Theme of the Week
This week's theme is High shutter speed (1000th of a second or higher}
High shutter speeds allow us to capture fractions of a second. This can "freeze" the movement of a bee or bird in flight, splashes, racing motorcycles and all sorts of sports and action events.
For even shorter shutter times you can use a flash at half or quarter power. The duration of the flash becomes the effective shutter speed even though your camera may be set to 125th of a second.
