Next Monday Night– Car Boot Sale
Next Monday evening we will hold a ‘Car Boot Sale’ in the school commencing at 8pm. This event will not be covered on Zoom.
So this is your chance to get value for any surplus kit that you may have accumulated over the ‘pandemic’ years or to pick up some bargains from your fellow members.
IPF National Club Competition
National Club Competition Saturday May 21st.
Many thanks to everyone for submitting images for consideration for the IPF National club competition. There were an excellent selection of images and it was very difficult to have to choose just 10 for each panel. The colour and mono panels we have entered for the competition are shown above. Congratulations to all our members whose images have been selected and best of luck on May 21st
OffShootMSGs - OffShoot Minority Support Groups
These groups are for members of Offshoot who use post processing products other than Lightroom and Photoshop and for some of the less popular photographic equipment. We think that it might be useful for these members to have a way to find help and encourage them in their voyages through the seas of software, preferences and menu options.
Last week John Wiles set up 3 Groups on which there has been useful, lively and spirited discussion.

Our Club Exhibition is Back
The Annual Club Exhibition will return this year and will be held in the DLR Lexicon over 6 weeks commencing 12th July 2022. You may now submit your images for the exhibition via this dropbox link:
https://www.dropbox.com/request/QiiYhKLD9LcFcbXbSfeD
The new closing date for submission of images is 31st May – so now is a great time to start looking through your images to find something you might like to submit or go and shoot something new if you wish. It is likely that we will be able to accommodate two images from each member.
The launch party has now been booked for the first night of the exhibition (12th July) in Hardys Bar in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire – so put the date in your calendar now!
Spring SWM Groups Wrapping Up
After some great adventures and sessions, the Spring SWM Groups are now finalising their images. They will be collated for printing in the next few days.
So remember to put 23 and 30 May in your calendar for the two SWM Showcases!
The Theme of the Week
This week's theme is Complementary Colours. Complementary colours are colours which are directly opposite each other on the colour wheel. When you use complementary colours they make each other appear more vibrant. Complementary pairs include red and green, blue and orange, purple and yellow. Some subjects naturally have complimentary colours eg holly, purple flowers with yellow centres, sandy beach with blue sky/sea.
Complementary colours attract the eye so if you have a small coloured subject which may get lost against a similar toned background placing it on a complimentary background can really make it pop.
