Last Monday Night – The Summer Barbeque
Thank you to everyone who came to the BBQ last week and made it a great success. The National Yacht Club was a great location for it and they were great hosts. Thank you to Tony for organising it.
Our Club Exhibition
The Annual Club Exhibition returns this year and will be held in the DLR Lexicon over 6 weeks commencing 12th July 2022.
Thank you to all who have submitted their images, we have had a wonderful response with a fantastic selection of images.
Thank you to everyone who has paid for their images so far, it is appreciated.
A launch party has been booked for the first night of the exhibition (12th July) at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire – so please put that date in your calendar!
The next Club Competition – “People in Images”
As you know the competition had to be changed to a digital format via Zoom rather than printed similar to recent competitions.
The deadline for all entries is Sunday 19th June at 10 pm
We urgently need more entries so please get out with your camera over the weekend or look over what you have taken in the last year.
As you know the theme is People in Images which you can interpret anyway you like as long as there is a person or people in the image. The person/people don’t have to be the subject but can be there for scale, perspective or of course the main subject. Images can be portraits, street, architecture, landscape, mono or colour it is up to you to you to have fun with the theme.
Initially for Level 2 and Level 3 the image must have been taken with a 35mm or 50 mm full frame equivalent focal length. This means that you can use a 35 or 50 mm prime lens or set your zoom lens to 35 or 50mm. If you have don’t have a fullframe camera you can use the link below to see what focal length to use on your camera.
To make up for the last minute change and to encourage more entries the 35 and 50 mm focal length for Levels 2 and 3 is now a suggestion rather than a requirement.
For all levels to encourage continuous improvement and to get people out taking photos all images should have been taken within the last year.
As usual please save your images in JPEG format and name them with your Level Number, Membership Number and Image Title:
L2-001-Image title.jpg
Please upload to this Dropbox link by Sunday 19th June by 10 pm.
I look forward to seeing a great selection of images especially now that the theme is very flexible and I encourage all to participate especially new members. As with recent competitions the limit is 2 entries per person.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing lots more images.
