Next Monday Night – Deirdre Irwin on Wildlife
Next Monday evening Deirdre Irwin will show and discuss her wildlife images. As a long-standing member of Offshoot, Deidre has, justifiably, achieved a reputation as a wildlife photographer but this is not to diminish her expertise in other genres. She is indeed a magnificent
photographer and this is an evening not to be missed.
Monday night is also the time for you to hand in your images for the competition Refections and we will await sight of your efforts with anticipation.
This is a projected competition for all levels.
The judging will be a Zoom meeting on Monday 21st November and the judges are Eamonn and Christine from Skerries photography. Their website is https://skerriesphotography.com
AGM
The AGM will be held on Monday the 28th of November. The Agenda and further information will be sent out over the next few days. It would be great to see as many people there as possible at the AGM.
One of the main tasks at the AGM will be to vote in the four mandatory committee positions of Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Competitions Secretary. The other roles will be appointed by the incoming new committee.
It has come to the time of year that we need to start thinking about the new committee for 2023.
New Committee
If anyone would like to join the committee and help shape the future of the club, please let the present committee know, or, you can let Emily know at chairperson@offshoot.ie.
This is your club and all help is welcome.
The Camargue
After two very successful trips to this paradise in the South of France Mike Smith has organised another trip for 2023. There are still two places available.
If you’re interested drop him a line at rmichael.smith176@gmail.com.
An Evening with Doug Allan
Doug Allan is a wildlife and documentary cameraman who spent seven years in Antarctica as a Scientist, research diver and photographer for the British Antarctic Survey. He has filmed at both the North and South poles and his work is seen on a string of high profile, award-winning series such as the Blue Planet.

Offshoot entry for IPF National Shield
Congratulations to all who submitted an image or images. Every image was scrutinised by a panel of members and being chosen to represent Offshoot in the upcoming IPF National Shield Competition is an accolade worth having. The final will take place on Saturday 26th November in the Horse and Jockey Hotel in Thurles.
