Last Monday Night – OffShoot AGM
Last Monday we held our AGM and elected the four mandated committee members for 2023.
Chair - Emily Gallagher
Secretary - Andy Quinlan
Treasurer - Trevor Stafford
Competitions Secretary - Jean Clarke
A massive thank you to our outgoing Secretary Gerry Donovan, who has to step down from the role, as he has served the constitutionally allowed three years in the position. Gerry has done a beyond superb job as Secretary over the last three years, his hard work is very much appreciated. Thanks, Gerry.
We would also like to thank Matt Dunne who was the IPF Liasion this year and who did a magnificent job in getting our panels together for both the National and the Shield competitions. We really appreciate all his hard work. Thank you, Matt.
Our thanks also go to Jimmy Freely, Robbie O'Leary, and Sylvia Hick who have stepped back from the Outings sub-committee, we have all benefitted from their hard work and diligent planning, thank you for everything you have done for the club.
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who has worked on and with the committee and sub-committees this year or has helped in any way throughout the year.
We welcome Andy Quinlan to the committee and know that he will do a fantastic job. Thank you for joining the team, Andy.
We are still looking for someone to become our IPF Liaison, if you are interested in this role or any other roles in our sub-committees, please get in contact with the Committee.
Next Monday Night – SWM Showcase
Next Monday night will be the first of two SWM Showcase evenings over the next two weeks. Both of these meetings will be in the school. These are always great evenings with some fantastic images and stories. The SWM team, the leaders, and the groups have put a huge amount of work into the Showcases.
IPF National Shield Results 2022
OffShoot came in 7th place overall out of 23 clubs in the Shield last Saturday. We were in joint 4th in the mono section and 8th in the colour section. So, well done to all.
In the individual results, Mike McNamara came a fantastic second in the mono section and won a silver medal. Congratulations and well done to Mike. His winning image “Abstract” is shown below.
Crann Annual Photo Competition
Congratulations to Jimmy Freely on coming third in the Crann Trees and Hedgerows competition. Jimmy has two photos in the Crann calendar. Well done Jimmy!
Exhibition Photobook
We are excited to let you know that the OffShoot Photobook including most of the images displayed at our Club Exhibition at DLR Lexicon during the summer is now available to purchase.
The books will be on sale at the two SWM Showcases in December for €23 each.
The OffShoot Committee wants to thank Taryn Barling for the exceptional effort she has put into organising and putting together this Photo Book. Once you see it you will be as impressed as we are. Well done Taryn!
You can buy a book by paying at the meetings with Cash or pre-pay (we will then reserve your book for you) by making an electronic bank transfer to the OffShoot bank account.
