Last Monday Night  – SWM Showcase #2

We had to postpone our SWM Showcase #2 last Monday due to adverse weather conditions.

We have rescheduled it to the 9th of January and will run it in conjunction with our welcome-back meeting.

This is sure to feature some fantastic images along with anecdotes gathered during the shooting sessions.

Offshoot Christmas Party Returns

After several years of a gap, our Christmas get-together returns on 19th December at the Horse & Hound in Cabinteely. So put the date in your calendar now – the start time is 8 pm!

Make Sure You Get Your Exhibition Photo Book!

The Exhibition Photo Book is selling fast! It includes most of the images that were displayed at the Club Exhibition at DLR Lexicon during the summer.

You can buy a book by paying at the meeting with cash or prepay (we will reserve your copy for you) by making an electronic bank transfer to the Offshoot bank account. Please email the Treasurer at treasurer@offshoot.ie for the bank account details and to confirm when you have made your payment.

Exhibition Photo Book Reprints

There were some quality problems with the initial print run of The Exhibition Photo Book. Taryn has now arranged a reprint with the supplier.

The newer print version will be available for next Monday’s club meeting. So if you would like to swap your already purchased copy, please bring it along next Monday to the meeting. If you cannot make it Monday, we will continue the swap-out programme from our 9th January meeting onwards.

9th January 2023 is Our Return Date in the New Year

Put 9th January in your calendar – that’s the date for our first meeting in 2023. We will feature SWM Showcase #2 and have a first look at some of the plans being developed for our 2023 activities.

2023 Annual Subscription Fees Now Payable

At the AGM on 28th November the annual subscription for 2023 was set at €90.

The subscription will be due by 28th February 2023 but you can get ahead of the game by paying now.

Payment can be made by PayPal at https://www.offshoot.ie/subs or by bank transfer. Please email treasurer@offshoot.ie for BIC and IBAN details.

For new members that have joined since June 2022, your current subscription takes you to December 2023.

Here are the next scheduled meetings and events for the Society:

The first competition for 2023 will be Open which means you can send in any image you like on any theme and in colour or mono.

This is a printed competition for all levels.  Hand-in will be on Monday 30th January and judging on Monday 13th February.  

You can submit up to 2 images.  

A separate email will issue with the link for uploading images for printing.   

There is a great selection of images from the Shoot With Me so there is an opportunity to enter those if you haven’t already used them in a competition.

We look forward to seeing a great selection of images and encourage all to participate especially new members.

Just a note for new members – if you want any of your pictures considered for the photo of the week, you just have to post them to the OffShoot Flickr group at:

There’s also the latest images published on Flickr that are displayed on the OffShoot home page.
