Last Monday Night – Competition Judging
The theme was "Movement" and with a wide interpretation possible, some fabulous images were presented. Joe Doyle, as ever, was a super judge. Congratulations to all the winners and remember there are never losers.
Your name might not be in this competition’s headlines but could be in the next one.
The September competition theme is "Mono" so get shooting.
2023 Club Exhibition
This year’s exhibition will be held between 12th July and 26th August on the fourth floor of the Lexicon in Dun Laoghaire.
We also plan to compile a book of the exhibition images that will be available at the time of the event. The Exhibition Book will cost €30.
The closing date for uploading your images was 12th June 2023. So if you haven’t submitted an image, you’ve missed your chance to be in the Exhibition.
Shoot With Me
Those of us who attended the two recent SWM Showcases will have been very impressed with the diversity of activities and the quality of images presented. Congratulations to Pat Divilly, without whose energetic enthusiasm we would not have achieved the successful programme.
However, Pat always needs new leaders so if you have an idea for the Autumn series give it a ‘go’. You don’t need to be an expert on the topic chosen; it may be just a project you would like to try yourself.
Summer BBQ Set for Tuesday 20 June
Our Summer BBQ will be held at the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire on Tuesday 20th June starting at 8 pm. So come along for a great social evening and, hopefully, a bright sunny end to the day.
Please note there will be no club activity on Monday 19th June.
The 2023 Photo Challenge (23PC)
The 2023 Photo Challenge was launched in January and is intended to encourage members to pursue a focused theme of photography between now and next November. It is not a competition; you decide the output standard you go for.
What you need to do is develop a Statement of Challenge Theme that describes the purpose and approach for your challenge:
- Produce 6 to 10 images that illustrate your Theme to a standard that satisfies you, or
- a 5 to 7-minute-long AV of your images.
There are no restrictions on how, when or where you capture your images.
If you haven’t started or require any clarification or if you would like feedback on your proposed Theme please email 23pc@offshoot.ie
So, you have the Summer to get your project off the ground.!
IPF Shield Competition – Call for Your Images
The IPF Shield Competition is held each Autumn and Offshoot is now preparing to select a Colour and a Mono Panel to represent the club.
So please start now to look through your images and select up to a max of 5 colour and 5 mono to submit for consideration for the Offshoot entry.
