Monday Evening Programme

Last Monday we had a great evening for the judging of our club Mono competition by Jimmy McDonnell from Greystones Camera Club. Congratulations to all members who entered and, in particular, to those who were chosen as winners.

Over the next three weeks, we have an interesting mix of Monday evening sessions:

October 02 – Tina Claffey will present on Bog Seasons Macro on Zoom

October 07 – Fil Nenna will present on Portraits – also on Zoom

October 16 – Club Quiz Night at the school – always a bit of fun and enjoyment!!

The Zoom meetings details will be emailed to all members in due course.

2023 Photo Challenge Last Call

If you are taking part in 23PC please note that images must be forwarded to Gerry Donovan by WeTransfer.com before Monday 02 October.

Two Important Reminders – Uncollected Prints and Exhibition Books 

1. Emily recently sent an email reminder to members showing prints which remain uncollected in storage in the school. If any of these are yours, please arrange to collect them at one of our in-person meetings over the next few weeks. We are under pressure for space and we will have to dispose of unclaimed items by the end of November.

2. We have a number of 2023 Exhibition Books still available for purchase (€30). If you are interested, please contact any member of the committee to reserve your copy.

Next Club Competition

The next Club Competition is on the theme of Street Photography.

This is difficult to define but in essence it is candid photography taken through the filter of the interests of the photographer. It can be done anywhere and does not have to include people. So you can have a wide interpretation of the theme.

For all levels, to encourage continuous improvement and to get members out taking photos, entries should have been taken within the last year.

As usual please save your images in JPEG format and name them with your Level Number, Membership Number and Image Title as follows:

Each member may submit up to two images in this competition.

This is a projected competition so images will need to be uploaded by Monday 13 November (a link will be provided) and the judging will be held on Monday 20 November.
