These last days of October have been the wettest for many years but the trees started to change to Autumnal orange despite the rain. We have gloried in the mists and the members' images have been stunning. It is a wondrous time to be a photographer surrounded by this bounty, so wrap up for the Irish weather and keep the camera charged and ready. We all look forward to seeing your images.
Join the Offshoot Committee
Offshoot is our club, and you can help influence how things happen. Like every social club, Offshoot doesn’t run on fresh air and we need new blood to keep things ticking over. Don’t say you haven’t time because even a limited involvement takes a minimal amount of effort.
We need you and you CAN offer so much. Don’t just come to the meetings for the craic (although you are always welcome) without thinking about what effort has gone into the events you enjoyed. Like Uncle Sam, Offshoot needs you NOW.
Monday Evening Programme
On Monday 23rd October 9 members presented their Photo Challenge Images. It was a wonderful evening with some fabulous images presented in either a personal or audio-visual format. Great credit is paid to all participants and to Gerry Donovan who masterminded the Photo Challenge concept.
Next Monday we will have another presentation of member's Photo Challenge Images. If this Monday’s presentation reaches the heights of the one on 23rd October, and we see no reason why it should not, then you are in for a treat.
So, join us this Monday to be entertained and educated.
Shoot With Me Prints Showcases
All the SWM group activities are now well underway.
To help everyone involved with their planning, the SWM Showcases are scheduled for 27 November and 04 December.
To allow Steve time, images will need to be submitted for printing no later than 10 days before the first Showcase ie 16 November latest.
Two Important Reminders – Uncollected Prints and Exhibition Books
1. Emily recently sent an email reminder to members showing prints which remain uncollected in storage in the school. If any of these are yours, please arrange to collect them at one of our in-person meetings over the next few weeks. We are under pressure for space and we will have to dispose of unclaimed items by the end of November.
2. We have several 2023 Exhibition Books still available for purchase (€30). If you are interested, please contact any member of the committee to reserve your copy.
