Urgent Call for Club Committee Volunteers
As you know, our Club depends on volunteers to run the Committee and a number of important sub-committees. Without these volunteers, much of our activities could not be undertaken.
Some important positions will become vacant at the end of 2023 as the existing incumbents have served their terms or have indicated their wish to retire. Many thanks to all these who have contributed so well to our busy club schedule.
We now urgently need volunteers to cover at least the following activities:
Treasurer
IPF Coordinator
Outings Committee members
Without additional assistance, the Committee will have to curtail activities during 2024 – not a course of action that is desirable.
So please come forward now and offer your talents to the Club so we can continue to run our full programme next year. Please contact any existing Committee members to discuss your interest – please do it now!
Club Competition Judging Next Monday
Last Monday we had a wonderful presentation by Kevin Grace of his frozen flowers images. A big thanks to Kevin for stepping in a short notice to give his excellent talk to us.
Next Monday, we will have the judging of our final Club Competition of 2023 on the theme of Street Photography.
Two Important Reminders – Uncollected Prints and Exhibition Books
1. Emily recently sent an email a while ago to members showing prints which remain uncollected in storage in the school. If any of these are yours, please arrange to collect them at one of our in-person meetings over the next few weeks. We are under pressure for space and we will have to dispose of unclaimed items by the end of November.
2. We have a number of 2023 Exhibition Books still available for purchase (€30). If you are interested, please contact any member of the committee to reserve your copy.
So, join us this Monday to see this brilliant project.
IPF National Shield Image Panels Selected
The Offshoot image panels for the IPF National Shield Competition (due to be held on 25 November) have now been selected.
A big thanks to Matt O’Brien for the significant work and effort he put in to coordinate the selection process.
Annual General Meeting – 11th December
The AGM will be held in the school on Monday 11th December 2023 at 8 pm.
Please put the date in your calendar – full attendance is important for the good governance of Offshoot.
Christmas Party – 18 December
Our Christmas Party will be held in the Horse and Hound, Cabinteely, on Monday 18th December – another important date for your calendar. |
