Last Monday

We had Joe Tulie's son, Paul, come and accept a presentation in memorium of his Dad. We also had our annual carboot sale, where people got some great gear at good prices.

Next Monday

Next Monday we have Brendan Burke talking to us about pet photography.

Exhibition 2024

This year's exhibition will be held in Deansgrange Library in May. We will be able to display a maximum of two images per photographer and are now starting to collect images for the exhibition. The closing date to enter the exhibition is the 29th of March. The exhibition is always a success and a great opportunity to get images printed and to display your work to the public. The deadline for entry of images is Friday the 29th of March.

If possible, please send your files in the highest quality you can, preferably tiff, as this helps Steve print as high quality images as possible.  

Please title your files PhotographerName_ImageTitle.tiff, e.g EmilyGallagher_BigTree.tiff.

BBQ

Our annual BBQ will be held at the National Yacht Club at 8pm on Tuesday the 25th of June.

2024 Annual Subscription Fees now Due

For those that have not yet paid, it past the 29th February and your 2024 Annual Subscription Fee is now due.

As set at the AGM on 11th December 2023, the annual subscription for 2024 is €90.

Payment can be made by PayPal at https://www.offshoot.ie/subs, by bank transfer, or by card payment to the Treasurer at the meetings. Please email treasurer@offshoot.ie for BIC and IBAN details.

Images for the IPF National Club Competition

Following our excellent performance at the 2023 IPF National Shield Competition, we intend to submit a strong panel of images for the IPF National Club Competition. To this end, we request all members to pull together any photographs they would like to be considered for inclusion in the club colour and mono panels.

Images from all club members are eligible for inclusion in this competition. You can submit up to 5 colour and 5 mono images for consideration using this link to submit your images.

Please name your files as follows: C (for colour) or B (for black & white) followed by membership number plus Title separated by "-". eg. C-123-Title

Just a note for new members – if you want any of your pictures considered for the photo of the week, you just have to post them to the OffShoot Flickr group at:

https://www.flickr.com/groups/offshoot_society.

There’s also the latest images published on Flickr that are displayed on the OffShoot home page.

[Note. To join the Offshoot Flickr group, you must first be a Flickr member. Then send the email address used to join Flickr to webadmin@offshoot.ie. You will get an email when you have been added to the group. Please be patient as this is a manual process.]

Next Club Competition – Food

Our next Club Competition has now been scheduled for April, and the theme is FOOD. You can send any image you like on the theme of food in colour or mono. If you heard Mike O’Toole’s excellent presentation, you have a head start, but get your images together now.

As always, we encourage you (especially new members) to enter. The most significant benefit of entering is the feedback from independent judges to help you improve your photography.

You can submit up to 2 images and have lots of time, so get shooting. We look forward to seeing a great selection of photos. 

As usual, please save your images in  JPEG format and name them with your Level Number, Membership Number, and Image Title: L2-001-Image title.jpg
