Summer has arrived. Don’t worry if you missed it, there will be a repeat performance in July, I hope. Flowers are blooming in abundance, insects flit from flower to flower in seek of nectar and, given the nature of Irish weather, waterfalls still cascade. So, there is so much to photograph we are spoiled for choice. There is no excuse so get out and enjoy the bounteous fruits of an Irish summer and shoot away.
Last Monday (10th June)
We had the second Shoot With Me showcases and some fabulous images made a grand sight for sore eyes. Long may this fabulous enterprise continue. There is not only scope for some fantastic photo-voyages but the camaraderie on the journey makes it all worthwhile.
It would be remiss of us not to thank Pat Divilly for all his hard work in making this happen. Don’t forget, we repeat the exercise in the Autumn and if you would like to lead, or can be cajoled into leading, a Shoot With Me Group you will receive a warm welcome. The best part is the ability of the leader and members to learn from each other so if you would just like to try a project where you can learn you, too, can take on this task.
Next Monday (17th June)
We have the judging of the club competition will be on the theme of Dereliction. If you want to see some old ruins please come along and be entertained.

Our Spring and early Summer season ends with a Barbecue at the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire so, come and join fellow members in a social extravaganza. (Please note that the BBQ is on the Tuesday.)
If you think we go dormant in the summer months, think again. Your committee are already scratching their heads to keep you entertained.
Outings Update
A quick update on upcoming outings:
The trip to the Saltees is now fully booked.
The remaining outing before the summer break is to the Botanic Gardens on Tuesday 25 June – details to follow.
The Outings Committee deserves all our thanks for their valiant efforts in keeping us entertained. What better way is there to meet other members, enjoy a bit of craic and even take some photographs. So, join in the fun and games which they strive so hard to provide for you. |
