Next Monday

Next week's meeting will be a member critique night. Please bring some images you would like some feedback on. We will break into small groups and look at the images. These evenings are always very useful and educational.

Last Monday

Last week's portrait meeting was very informative. Thank you Steve and John for bringing your lights and for educating us as to how to use them and how to take good portrait images. 

Shoot With Me

All the SWM groups are now full. The Group leaders will be in contact with group participants soon to start organising group activities.

Good luck to all the participants. The Showcase nights in November will be, as always, excellent. 

Thank you to Pat for organising the SWM programme for the last number of years. Pat has put in a lot of time and has done a superb job. 

Thank you also to the Group Leaders, without you we would not have or be able to enjoy SWM.

New Committee Members Needed
Do you want to help shape the future of the club? Do you have great ideas? Do you want to join the Committee? If so, please contact any member of the present Committee and let us know, as there is a place for you in the incoming Committee.

IPF National Shield 
The IPF National Shield Club Competition will be held in November, we would like to get a panel together of member's images. We will be looking for images, if you would like to be included, please let Emily know.

Next Outing

The next outing is a Moonrise from Coliemore Harbour on Wednesday 18th. A super full moon is due to rise at 7.43 pm over Muglins Lighthouse. We’ll meet at the harbour at 7 pm to allow plenty of time to pick positions and set up.

This outing is weather-dependent, so keep an eye on the Outings WhatsApp group.

What's On 

Here are the next scheduled meetings and events for the Society:

Mono

Our next competition will be on the theme of 'Mono'. Mono is a photograph that utilizes differing amounts of light instead of different colours to capture and represent images. 

Monochrome (Black and White photography) uses varying shades of neutral grey instead of the colours of the objects photographed. 

As usual, please save your images in JPEG format and name them with your Level Number, Membership Number and Image Title: L2-001-Image title.jpg

As always, we encourage all of you (especially new members) to enter. The most significant benefit from entering is the feedback from independent judges to help you improve your photography.

You can submit up to 2 images, so get shooting. We look forward to seeing a great selection of images. 

This is a printed competition for all levels. The upload will be on Monday, 16th September, and the hand-in will be on Monday, 23rd September, for judging on Monday, 30th September.

You must upload images to Steve using the link below to facilitate payment. Make sure you say collection rather than delivery. Upload images for printing here.

Please also upload your image here so we can project the image on the night of the judging.
